#7 High Anxiety

January 7th, 2009

You won’t see many t-shirts here.  Even though I might come across a hundred of them by the time I clear out my clutter.

The vast majority of t-shirts and everything else will be DONATED to charity.  I see from my first day’s comments I didn’t make that clear. When you’re voting for “Toss”, you are voting to DONATE.

So back to this t-shirt. It’s 30 years old, I don’t wear it, and it’s so small I couldn’t fit into it anyway. But it’s here because there’s a story attached to it that’s important to me.   You can read the story here, but I’ll give you the headlines.

When I was a TV newcaster in Miami, Mel Brooks was promoting this movie and I interviewed him about it.  And after the interview, I got two souvenirs–this t-shirt, and a husband.

Because I’m sentimental, I kept the t-shirt.

Even though I didn’t keep the husband.

I wonder if Alli or Daniel might like this t-shirt, for sentimental reasons. If not, I say toss it!

You need a box in which to put things like this that are KEEPSAKES (fercrissakes).

This blog idea is hilarious. Major props!

I’ll take the shirt for my children.
I may have given up my wife but I never lost my friend.

I love keeping stuff like this! Since the shirt itself isn’t useful, maybe cut out the graphic and frame it.

I agree with the box idea – maybe get a nice trunk or something to organize your keepsakes, and keep this shirt because it means something to you and it doesn’t take up much room.

The yarn that goes with this T-shirt would make me want to keep it.

I had to comment after Jane and Jeanne suggested that I put my keepsakes in a box. OMG. I doubt that my “keepsakes” will ever fit in a box. Not any box that would fit into my house. Maybe on one of those huge container ships….

People who don’t read my blog might not realize that we are the original Bruce and Demi, still friends. They will now. This made me cry.
