So how’s this for an encore?  Out of the blue, yesterday a box arrives at our house.  Inside is even MORE yarn than Lynne gave away last time—more skeins and balls than I could even count—gorgeous yarns worth hundreds of dollars.   What’s pictured here is just a tiny sample of the first batch. 

If you like to knit,  you just hit the jackpot.  Because the box full of yarn is almost—but not quite—as big as Lynne’s heart.  Thank you!!!

Alli  didn’t think she would use this— and she hadn’t even unpacked before offering it to cluttercast.   I’m not sure if this comes from her natural tendency—or as a reaction to growing up with me.   Instead of holding onto things for years like I do,  Alli has no problems letting go.

Junk mail.  This woman came up with a  process where she boils and shapes junk mail into items that are each completely unique and useful.  PLus surprisingly attractive and surprisingly lightweight. 

Jane loves anything that has even a touch of purple— and she loves plants.  But when she brought the planter home, she realized she has no place to put it.  So she offered it to me. 

I love things made of recycled goods.  But I have a notorious black thumb—and Jane has seen the evidence.  So she suggested I cluttercast it.   And I thought today is the perfect time—- closing a week  focused on saving the earth.

With Earth Day approaching , I decided that this year I wouldn’t be left out.  Since I was at the very first Earth Day in Central Park, the day meant a lot to me (from what I can remember, since I was obviously so very young).).  I went to look for my commemorative T-shirt for the day, and couldn’t find it. (It had obviously dissolved– as  real antique T-shirts do).

But I did find a mint condition – never worn– 20th anniversary pink Earth Day T-shirt!  What a treasure! My daughter and I bought it in Washington DC during a trip in 1990. I folded it up and put it away.

Since all I want is my old, old t-shirt, this new (19 year old) pretender will never do. Darryle, I hope one of your green, earth friendly readers will see the value in this shirt.

Note:  Marsha and I went to high school together.  So I’m a little confused, Marsha, to hear you attended the first Earth Day.  1970?  How is that possible?    By my calculations, that would make both of us much older than we look or feel.  So if you really were at that first Earth Day event in Central Park, you must have been watching from your stroller.  LOL   And thank you for this “vintage” collector’s item!
