Cluttercast: Fish pin

February 26th, 2009

When my kids were little, I used to look for costume jewelry that I thought would amuse them—which is how I ended up with the duck necklace and this fish pin– and probably more items yet to come.

I got this fish to honor the pet we had at the time, which was a goldfish.  I never really wore pins but I liked the design and the colors.

Then we got a new pet—a cat.   I still remember the day the kids and I came home— and found the goldfish remains on the carpet in the living room.   Since then we’ve stuck to cats— and never had another fish.   Also since then I never bought another piece of animal jewelry to amuse the kids.

If you would like to have this item, please let me know in a comment. If you know someone else who might like it, I hope you’ll share this and let them know.

This looks exactly like something Julie would wear, lots of her jewelry is turquoise, she even made a special trip to New Mexico last summer to add to her collection.I think “all” of us have made so many friends and learned what each really likes..So happy you came into all of our WEB LIVES!!!Thanks

I would like to see my coworker, Susan get this pin. She is a catch and release fisherwoman and also always wears the most interesting jewelry. This fish would be another that would end up being a conversation piece!

Very pretty pin. I love Julie’s story about her grandson and the other one about the turquoise jewelry. It seems to me as if she needs this pin. I guess I am all about the children and if it would make her grandchild happy, then he needs to be happy. A fishpin for granny could be an interesting piece to talk about and make up stories about where all the fish went to before it decided to become Grandma’s Fish Pin. Hey, there is an idea for a set of children’s books if anyone had time to write them!
