She grabbed her father's guns, since she lost him. Now she should have something for herself that reminds her of her things she didn't grab before the fire gutted her house. Even though Ruth is older and may not own the dolls as long as someone younger, she can still miss things lost. I vote for Ruth to have the porcelain dolls.

When I was a child age 11 I lost my Father, then a year later our home burned to the ground and we lost everything. Funny thing about it was that even though I had several dolls that I cherished and played with everyday that isn't what i grabbed to take out of the house when we discovered that the house was on fire. I grabbed my Father's jacket and several of his guns. You think you know how you will react to a situation, but believe you me when a stressful incident happens there is something in the back of your mind that takes over. I have never gotten over the loss of my dolls, even though I am now in my 60's, but there are probably all kinds of stories that you get so if there is someone that is more worthy of these dolls give them to them. They love them and treat them very gently. Today, one of the girls took her doll to school for "Show and Tell". She explained that it was very delicate and also very special.
