Everything is not little in Little League

March 27th, 2009

All over the country,  it’s time for the start of kids’ baseball season.   My son played on teams for years.   I will never forget the day he tried on his first baseball outfit and saw himself in the mirror.   Like a girl in her first prom dress, it’s a moment you never forget.

My son’s baseball pants were always torn, and full of grass stains and dirt.  I never saved any of them.

These pants are not stained or torn because no one played baseball in them.  My husband wore them—when the coaches were required to wear them to All star games.   These I saved.

Because if you’ve sat in the bleachers for hours,  kids’ baseball can become tedious at times,  even when you’re watching your own kid.   Which is why it was always entertaining to see the  dads—wearing skintight baseball pants.   Play ball!
