Princess power
May 26th, 2009
I recently read a piece about Princess fever, how parents have mixed feelings about their daughters and princess paraphernalia, and how the princess message is particularly pervasive and powerful to little girls.
I’m glad to be past all that. My daughter liked the Disney characters but didn’t buy into the whole thing– I used say she was the “anti-princess”. Although this article didn’t strike a chord for me personally, it did strike a chord— in the clutter.

(Set of four princesses, brand new, about 3 inches high)
HOW TO WIN: If you would like to have this item, please let me know in a comment. If you know someone else who might like it, I hope you’ll share this and let them know.

Awwwww how pretty and sooooooo cute! My cousin who has been trying for so many years to have a baby is FINALLY pregnant. Yep you guessed it she found out she is having a girl and guess what the theme is? PRINCESS POWER, LOL! Those would be a perfect gift for her and baby girl to come!
I would love to have these for my daughters room.
I would love these for my almost 3 year old daughter, but not near as much as she would love them! She is our only girl and has three older brothers. Everything she owns is either pink or sparkly, and her favorite is dressing in a pink fluffy dress and saying that she’s ‘Aurora.’ She tells me all the time that she is a princess, because her father is the King of Kings. If we won these toys, they would not only be a blessing, but they would not likely leave her purse.
My Grand daughter loves Cinderella and Belle, Snow White & Ariel. She also loves Dolphins, sea creatures and Mater from Cars! As a child I received a Cinderella Watch for my birthday. And back in the day (before seatbelts) I had to sit on the floor of the car as we travel to visit relatives in Florida and I admired and pretended with my Cinderella Watch the whole trip. I lost my Cinderella watch while strolling my little brother around the block one day. But my love of Cinderella remained so my GD and I have a generational mutual admiration society for Cinderella and princesses!
Darryle, you missed the boat! At my house we were deeply into She-Ra Princess of Power! My daughter loved the Disney princesses too, but She-Ra and her friends were far more “empowering.”
I would love to give these to my niece who believes she is a princess, who dresses like Dora the Explorer.. She honestly believes that Dora is a princess and I think every little girl is a princess in their own special way.. Crocs Capris and backpack…
thanks!
I volunteer at my church in many areas, one of them being with the senior high youth group. The youth pastor and his wife have a daughter who is going to be 2 in July and LOVES the disney princesses. It’s so cute to hear her say “rella” for cinderella and these dolls would preserve some of those moments for a while. Being a youth pastor and a manager at the church coffee shop, they don’t make a whole lot of money to buy there little girl a lot of toys. Most of her things are donated, I think this would be an awesome addition to her collection of donated items!
Thanks!!
I’m not a big fan of the princess mania either, but my 3 year old niece is all about princesses, especially Disney princesses. Her parents recently painted her room pink in a princess theme for her first “big girl princess room” and she was lucky enough to receive a princess castle for her dolls from her parents for her birthday, which was just this month. I think these Disney princess dolls would feel right at home in her castle.
I have two little girls that love all of the Disney princesses.
My little 5 year old granddaughter loves the Disney princesses. She loves to dress up and put on the princess heels and crown. Seems like most of the movies we watch are Disney princesses. I would love to give my princess the Disney princesses.
My 3 year old would love these. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
My daughter is finally loving princesses! I am soo excited. so she would love this.
