It would be too hard just choosing one. I would probably do the "easy" thing and just make it random. It might also be nice, in a way, for the people leaving comments because it takes the sting out of someone else being picked. After all it's just a random number! But it's also nice to hear the reasons people want things, so it would be a shame to lose that. It's nice for people to tell their stories. I wouldn’t want to pick if I were the one having to do it. As a breast cancer survivor myself, I read Wendy Brewer's comment and in addition to feeling empathy for anyone with cancer, I also admire Wendy's gesture as a friend. On the other hand, in such difficult times, I am guessing all 48 people who commented could tell us 48+ stories. I often don't feel capable of making a decision about who is more "deserving" of any item. This has been an issue for me since Cluttercast started; and I don't want to make Cluttercast about that. This seemed like the time to try leaving it to fate and the universe. Please feel free to let me know what you think.
